The Selection Series

Hi fellow Bookworms,

How are you? Leave a comment telling me what are your favourite series, because we are talking about one of mine.

So, I found out about these series in March 2017, around my birthday since my friends gave me a Bertrand card, so I decided to buy “The Selection” and “The Elite” by Kiera Cass.

I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t expecting these books to be so good. I thought it was the typical girly book, about marriage and all that. But it isn’t. For me it just shows how hard love really is. Of course when you put a competition¬†to find a wife it’s going to be basically a reality show. Well, America is the competitor with the least probability of winning, but Maxon can’t help but fall in love with her.

The best part of this series, even tough you might find it weird, the courage that girl holds inside of her. The other girls are just there for winning, but she is there to help her family not to get a better number, to be in a higher position on their society. She’s a simple girl that likes to sing and play instruments. She is happy about where she came from.

The problem I find with the first three books, is that when Aspen goes to the palace to work, America starts jumping between him and Maxon, which I ended up finding so unfair on the guys and herself. I understand her mixed feelings but it was just so confusing.

Unfortunately, the last book is yet to be realised in Portugal, and I hate buying the series in different languages so I’m still waiting for “The Crown”, but I’m sure it is an amazing book.

I love that Cass decided to continue the series with Eadlyn, makes you dig even deeper in the story, and also shows you that girls can stand ¬†and be the “boss” for themselves.

Overall I give the series a 8/10… not more because I prefer fantasy, but if you want to fly to a completely different place for a couple of hours give this one a go, you won’t regret it.

See you next time.

All the Love,

B xx
